Mia cried this morning and while I was trying to comfort her she asked “How will I play with Ellie with no hands and feet?”

This is the most crushing question Mia has asked me. I think about all the times I’ve been told that she is young and she won’t know what she’s lost. That is so wrong.

I told her we’d learn new ways of doing things and find new ways to play.
