Last night, Mia’s temperature was high and her blood count was low so we’ve moved back to PICU.  They received the result back from a routine blood test in the middle of the night.  The nurse came in and hit a panic button.  Nurses and doctors came in from everywhere to help and Mia was wheeled out the door and rushed back to PICU.

Morning update:

At this stage they just want the better monitoring. They’ve broadened the antibiotics she is on in case it’s another infection. The other possibility is a bleed somewhere but they’ve done x-rays and ultrasounds and can’t spot anything. In the meantime they’ve topped her up with blood.  Things are all chill now so we will try to sleep.
