On Saturday morning Mia told me she didn’t want them to have taken her hands.  I told her I didn’t want them to have to take them, but they were sick and they’d have made her sick again if they didn’t.  She cried and so did I.  She asked me if they’d give her new hands. I told her they couldn’t give her hands like her old ones, but they could give her ones to help her do things.  It’s such a horrible thing to have to say to my beautiful little girl.
